An honest 2026 roundup of ways to earn free sats: faucets, offers, microjobs, Stacker News, Blink Earn, games and card rewards, with a comparison table.

Earning free sats is real, but it is small. Nobody is quitting a job over a faucet, and any page that promises otherwise is selling something. What you can do is collect your first satoshis without buying any, learn how Lightning wallets work with real money on the line, and pick up a few sats a week from things you were going to do anyway. This guide lists the legitimate ways that still pay in 2026, what each one asks of you, and where the honest limits are.

We run one of the services below, Lightning Faucet, and it appears in the table like any other row. Everything about the other services comes from their own public pages as of 7 November 2026, and we dropped any that we could not confirm still pay in sats or bitcoin.

The short list

Ways to earn free sats fall into five groups: faucet-style claims, tasks and offers, content and community, learning, and spending-based rewards. Which one suits you depends on whether you have time, skills, or a card you already use.

Details come from each service’s public pages on 7 November 2026 and change often. Check the service itself before relying on any figure, and note that rewards paid as a percentage of spending depend on the bitcoin price when you cash out.

Faucets and daily claims

A faucet hands out a small amount of sats on a timer. The appeal is that it costs nothing and takes under a minute. The catch is that the amounts are tiny, which is why the best faucet-style rewards come bundled with other things to do.

Lightning Faucet

This is our own site, so here are the exact numbers rather than adjectives.

  • Weekly free spin: one spin every seven days, paying 5 to 100 sats. You sign up with an email address, verify it, and spin. No wallet is needed to claim.
  • Daily scratchcard: the first card each day is free and pays 1 to 50 sats if you match three symbols.
  • Daily streak: check in each day and the reward grows with your streak, reaching 10 sats on day 7.
  • Offers: tasks from partner networks such as surveys, app trials and sign-ups. Credited offers have a median of about 40 sats, and not every offer you start will credit. Availability depends on your country and device.
  • Microjobs: a follow pays a flat 20 sats, a post on X or LinkedIn pays 10 to 50, and most approved jobs pay under 100 sats. You submit proof, it is reviewed, and then it is paid.
  • Bug bounty: bug reports pay 25 to 200 sats for most findings. A finding that puts funds at risk can pay up to 50,000 sats.

The withdrawal rules are worth reading before you start. The minimum withdrawal is 100 sats, paid over Lightning to any compatible wallet. Sats from microjobs and bug bounties can be withdrawn without depositing. Offer earnings unlock once your lifetime offer earnings reach 10,000 sats, or straight away if your account has already completed a withdrawal. Free spin, scratchcard and streak sats are bonus balance with a playthrough, and withdrawing bonus sats or game winnings needs a first deposit of 100 sats or more. Our withdrawal guide walks through each balance type.

New to the idea? Bitcoin faucets explained covers how faucets work in general, and how to earn sats from an offerwall goes deeper on offers.

Tasks, offers and microjobs

If you have more time than money, tasks are where the larger amounts live. An offerwall pays when you finish something an advertiser wants, such as installing an app and reaching a level, or completing a survey. Rewards range from a few sats to several thousand for demanding offers, but the median is far lower, and offers sometimes fail to credit when the advertiser does not confirm. Treat the first few as an experiment.

Microjobs are different. They are small marketing tasks for one specific site, like following an account or writing a short review, and a human checks your proof. That makes them slower but more predictable, and the payout is a flat figure you can read before you start. On Lightning Faucet, about two thirds of approved microjobs were reviewed within a day in recent weeks, and some take longer.

Content and community: Stacker News

Stacker News is a link and discussion site where readers send sats to posts they like, which are called zaps. Of every zap, 70% goes to the author, with the remainder going to the territory founder and a daily rewards pool. That pool is paid out to stackers who contributed that day, and you do not need to attach a wallet to receive the daily rewards. Referrals earn 10% of the referred stacker’s rewards.

The honest version: this rewards good writing and useful comments, not volume. New accounts typically earn little at first, and its FAQ advises against founding a territory as a way to earn, since you pay in advance and it takes real effort to break even. If you already like writing about bitcoin, though, it is one of the few places where you can be paid in sats for something you would do anyway.

Learning and quizzes: Blink Earn

The Blink wallet has an Earn section with short lessons about bitcoin, each followed by a quiz. Pass the quiz and sats land in your wallet. The limits are strict by design. You are paid only the first time you complete a chapter, and only one chapter is available per day. After that, the lessons stay open for revision but pay nothing. It will not earn much, but it teaches the basics while it does.

Games: THNDR

THNDR builds skill-based mobile games, such as Club Bitcoin Solitaire, where how well you play decides what you win. Prizes are in bitcoin, and the company has said its prize pools are small. Reviews on public sites are mixed: some players report fast, real payouts, and others report earning only a few dozen sats after hours of play. Read the in-app payout terms, including any time limit on claiming prizes, before you put time into a game.

We also looked at ZEBEDEE’s older consumer games and the Fountain podcast app. ZEBEDEE’s current public site is aimed at businesses and does not mention sats rewards for players, and Fountain’s own pages describe listeners paying creators rather than earning sats, so neither is in the table.

Spending-based rewards: Lolli and Fold

These do not give you sats for free. They give you a slice of money you were going to spend anyway, paid in bitcoin instead of points. Lolli pays bitcoin on purchases at partner brands, added card-linked cashback in 2026, and added Lightning withdrawals in late 2025. Fold issues a Visa credit and debit card and an in-app gift-card marketplace, and says its credit card returns up to 4% in bitcoin, with a gamified Spinwheel on the debit card. Both are aimed at US users.

The trade-off is simple. If you already buy groceries and gas, the cashback is a decent way to accumulate sats without trading. If you would change your spending to chase rewards, you are losing money. Bitcoin’s price also moves, so a reward worth a dollar today may be worth more or less when you sell it.

What to avoid

  • Anything that asks for a deposit to unlock free sats. A real faucet or earn app pays you; it does not need your money first to release earnings. (A first deposit to withdraw bonus balance or game winnings is a different, stated rule, so read what a site says before you sign up.)
  • Sites promising a fixed daily income. Rewards depend on offers, rankings and your location, and nobody can honestly guarantee a figure.
  • Apps that want your seed phrase. Earning services only need a Lightning address, an invoice or an LNURL code to pay you.
  • Chasing tiny rewards across dozens of sites. Fees, time and privacy costs add up. Pick two or three and stay with them.

How to get paid out

Nearly every service above pays over the Lightning Network, which is the only rail where moving 100 sats is practical. You will want a wallet that can receive Lightning payments. Wallet of Satoshi, Phoenix, Zeus, Breez and Alby all work with Lightning Faucet withdrawals, and you scan an LNURL-withdraw QR code or paste an invoice. Our guide to satoshis and how to get them explains the units if you are starting from zero.

A simple plan for your first month

  1. Create an account and claim the free spin, then keep the daily streak going.
  2. Try two or three offers and one microjob to see which suits you.
  3. If you like writing, make an account on Stacker News and comment where you know the topic.
  4. Withdraw once you pass 100 sats to confirm your wallet works.
  5. Review after a month. If the numbers are not worth your time, stop. That is a fair outcome.

Earnings are small, vary by country and device, and are not guaranteed. Review each service’s rules before participating.

Frequently asked questions

What is the best way to earn free sats?
There is no single best way. A free weekly spin or daily claim is the fastest start, offers and microjobs pay more for your time, and writing on a site like Stacker News rewards good content. All are small, so pick two or three that fit what you already do.
Can you really earn Bitcoin for free?
Yes, in small amounts. Faucets, offers, microjobs, quizzes and bug bounties pay sats without a purchase. Spending-based rewards from cards pay a percentage of money you spend. None of them are an income, and amounts vary by country and device.
How much can you earn from a faucet?
On Lightning Faucet the weekly free spin pays 5 to 100 sats, the daily scratchcard 1 to 50 sats and the daily streak up to 10 sats. Offers have a median of about 40 sats, and most approved microjobs pay under 100 sats.
Do I need a Bitcoin wallet to start earning sats?
Not to start. On Lightning Faucet you create a free account, earn into your balance and connect a Lightning wallet when you want to withdraw. Some services, such as Stacker News, need a wallet attached to receive zaps.
What is the minimum withdrawal on Lightning Faucet?
The minimum withdrawal is 100 sats, paid over Lightning to any compatible wallet. Microjob and bug bounty sats can be withdrawn without depositing. Bonus sats from the spin, scratchcard and streak, and game winnings, need a first deposit of 100 sats or more.
Are there Lightning Network faucets that pay without a deposit?
Yes. Lightning Faucet pays microjob, bug bounty and offer earnings without a deposit once the stated rules are met. Always read a site's withdrawal terms first, and avoid any that ask you to pay before releasing earnings.
Is Stacker News a good way to earn sats?
It can be if you write useful posts and comments. Zaps from readers pay the author 70%, and a daily rewards pool pays contributors from site revenue. New accounts usually earn little at first, and its FAQ advises against buying a territory to earn.
Do games that pay Bitcoin actually pay?
Some do, in small amounts. THNDR pays bitcoin prizes for skill-based games, though prize pools are small and public reviews are mixed. Read the app's payout terms and time limits before investing time.
